The Embodied Practitioner

A Somatic Training for Practitioners Who Wanna Go Deeper Without Burning Out

Learn to work powerfully and safely with trauma while staying steady, resourced, and rooted in yourself.

Dear Heart-Centered Practitioner,

Do any of these sound like you?

  • You’ve learned a lot about trauma, but you’re not sure how to help their body truly complete the stress response, instead of just calming things down for the time being.

  • You know that deeper healing lives in the body, but when the moment calls for it, you find yourself defaulting to talking, because you haven’t had the space to really practice the somatic tools, and you’re afraid of getting it wrong.

  • You want your clients to feel safe bringing anything to you, but after sessions, you notice your jaw is tight, your shoulders are up to your ears, and your body feels like it’s been bracing for impact the past hour.

  • You wish there was a space where you could actually practice nervous system skills & tools in real time with real people, while gaining feedback and support that helps you embody them and build confidence.

  • You know you could feel way more alive and co-creative in your sessions—but when the moment calls for something intuitive or out-of-the-box, doubt creeps in and you end up playing it safe.

  • You’re used to being everyone’s safe space, but sometimes, when your own system is in chaos, you mask it with a calm exterior and lead from a ‘faux window of tolerance’ that leaves you feeling worn out.

  • You want to support your clients without saving or over-giving—but when they’re in deep pain, you can feel yourself leaning in too far, trying to carry something that isn’t yours.

  • You can feel the limitations of your current tools when the same patterns keep showing up, week after week, and you know that learning to work with the body and the nervous system could take your work, and clients, deeper.

  • You’re craving more nervous system training—but the thought of a 200-hour Zoom course where you end up zoning out to pre-recorded content, wasting money, and never actually practicing for what really comes up in sessions, makes you want to pull your hair out.

  • You have been working on your own for a while now, and know it would feel amazing to be in a supportive learning environment to sharpen you skills, learn vital tools, and get re-invigorated around your work.

  • You know everyone needs and deserves support, but you secretly believe (or even judge yourself) that because you do this for a living, you should just know how to do it all alone.

  • You care deeply about your clients—but by Friday you’re so overstimulated and depleted, you’re ready to disappear to a remote island for a month just to feel like yourself again.

  • You want your clients to be able to tell you anything, but after they’ve been venting for 40 minutes you feel like you just got hit by a moving train and you know that isn’t really helping them.

If any of this sounds familiar, I hear you.

And I have a powerful invitation for you.

A bit of my story

In 2018, I started my coaching business with a bang. I was hungry, on fire for the work, and things were really flowing. I made 70k my very first year, had a full client list, led my first retreat, got invited on podcasts, was asked by my teachers to assist … I was damn good at what I did.

But there came a point - coinciding with the collective trauma of Covid - when the intensity of what was coming through my door started to feel overwhelming. I felt like my sessions were falling flat and I was grasping.

Instead of feeling excited by my client sessions, I felt exhausted. I would often cancel last minute because my nervous system was fried and I didn’t feel good about showing up when I had been zoned out binge-watching some stupid Netflix show, unable to feed myself, get dressed, or do anything that might actually be good for my body. I was frozen and burning out.

Sometimes sessions would feel great. But other times I would catch myself tracking how much time was left, telling myself, “only 20 more minutes.” This is not how this should feel, I told myself.

Then my inner critic started to have a freaking field day. Are you even good at this? You don’t know what you’re doing. If you were any good, you would not feel like this. You should never coach again. The avalanche of self-doubt buried me in my own freeze even further.

So, in the summer of 2020, I signed up for a 16 month somatic trauma resolution training. I wanted to be able to hold new levels of depth. I wanted my sessions to feel exciting and magical again - not just some of the time - 99% of the time (still a little space to be human 🤓). I wanted to know I could confidently meet whatever my clients brought.

That training changed everything. It didn’t just give me tools—it gave my nervous system a serious capacity upgrade. I started to feel like a jedi in my sessions. I stopped trying to “manage” the session or figure out what they needed, and I started to let their nervous system’s show me where they needed to go. My work deepened. Word of mouth spread. I had my first 6-figure year, and felt like I was finally working in a regenerative way. I would leave sessions even more regulated and enlivened than when they started! I felt like I got my juice back. And expanded my ability to hold depth in a way that felt easeful.

I want that for you, too.

Let’s go deeper, together.

Because doing it alone is no longer the vibe.

The era of the lone wolf is over. The time of trying to figure it all out on our own is done.

It’s time to step into our power as practitioners, together. To create a deeper field of wellness for this community we call home.

Now more than ever, space-holders need real, supportive environments to practice working with trauma—in ways that are truly effective for their clients and sustainable for themselves.

After years of training and working deeply with clients navigating trauma, I’ve learned that it doesn’t have to be a white-knuckle experience - for them or for us.

You don’t need more theory, more intellectual learning, or another certificate for your wall. You need effective, body-based tools you can practice and embody in real time.

You need to learn how to work in a way that nourishes you, while supporting real transformation in others.

There are practical tools, embodied frameworks, and truly magical ways of working with the nervous system that make space-holding feel collaborative and life-giving, not draining or overwhelming.

Because the truth is: in any deep healing work, the capacity, flexibility, and stability of your nervous system is what will make the biggest difference in your sessions.
The deeper your regulation and sense of presence, the more your client’s system can settle—making whatever else you navigate together that much more effective.

These tools create a wide, grounded base of support that your clients will feel.
And when you’re anchored, steady, and attuned, there’s naturally more flow, creativity, and depth in your sessions.

But we can’t learn this from a book.
We have to practice it.

Knowledge without embodied wisdom keeps you stuck in your head and playing it safe in a way that doesn’t actually serve your clients. It keeps your sessions clinical, rather than deeply connected.

And to get there you need a powerfully held container where you can practice, and actually embody the work.

Where you can try out new tools, ask questions, mess up, try again, and experiment without fear of judgment. Spaces where we support each other in becoming better space-holders—without needing to be perfect or have all the answers.

The more you actually feel and work with these tools in real time, the more potent they become, because you’re strengthening your own nervous system - which is the biggest key.

As the world intensifies, we need practitioners who can meet trauma not just with compassion, but with real skill. The world needs embodied, somatic guides to help usher in more healing, more beauty, and more empowerment at this critical time in collective history.

That’s why we created this communal learning space. To practice the art of trauma resolution and nervous system alchemy. Together.

Hi, Beloved

I’m Whitney Ullom - somatic facilitator, trauma resolution guide, and feminine embodiment/sexuality coach. Over the last 8 years I’ve supported hundreds of women (along with men and couples) to come home to their bodies, awaken their pleasure, and embody more of their fullest raw expression.

As a certified ReBloom Coach for Post-Traumatic Growth, VITA™ Sex, Love, and Relationship Coach, VITA™ Female Sexuality Coach, VITA™ Relationship Transformation Coach, Breathwork Facilitator, Reiki Master, ThetaHealing Practitioner, and a seasoned performer, I know how to weave nervous system skills into a number of different modalities - I wanna help you do that, too.

Working with groups to step into their growth edges is my jam.

I wanna help you grow into a powerful facilitator who can meet trauma confidently and with a radical sense of permission, playfulness, and aliveness so your clients and students feel deeply seen, profoundly held, and naturally guided toward lasting transformation. I want you to give from overflow rather than just getting by.

In addition to my trainings, I have studied extensively with & assisted Kimberly Ann Johnson - one of the most well-known teachers of the female nervous system - for 5 years. (Author of Call of the Wild: How We Heal Trauma, Awaken Our Power, and Use it for Good & The Fourth Trimester).

After being away for 16 years, I am so excited to bring this work to you and my home community.

If you’re ready to grow skills that will support both your own nervous system capacity and help you meet your clients in their most challenging places, I’d love to be with you in this powerful experiential learning container.

Program Structure

Three Full-Day In-Person Workshops

(July, August, and September)
Each day is a mix of nervous system learning, deep embodiment, somatic skill-building, group practice, and live demos. You’ll be guided into your own nervous system patterns while learning how to support others.

Three Integration Circles

(In between each workshop)
These are spaces to ask questions, receive support, and digest what’s been shifting in your client sessions (and in your life!) now that you’ve started incorporating the skills we’ve learned. These sessions are invaluable and offer additional learning and integration.

WhatsApp Group

There will also be a group chat where you can continue to connect with eachother, share celebrations, and ask questions. Having the group support makes all the difference!

  • This workshop is all about creating real nervous system stability—both for yourself and your clients.

You’ll learn how to show up grounded, attuned, and responsive, so you can hold deeper work without burning out or bracing for impact.

You’ll explore the Window of Tolerance (or Window of Presence) in a way that actually feels useful—so you can recognize when someone is outside of their window and know what to do about it, without getting pulled into urgency or shut-down.

    What We’ll Explore:

    • Rooted vs. Wobbly Practitioner Presence
What makes a client feel safe in your space isn’t just your words—it’s how regulated your system is underneath them.

    • Stabilization, Regulation & the Window of Tolerance
Learn how to create deeper stability in your sessions, yourself, and your clients. Explore how the nervous system moves in and out of its window of tolerance—and what to do when someone’s outside of it.

    • Dual Awareness & Witness Consciousness
How to hold complexity and stay attuned—without getting flooded or checked out so you can stay present and connected even in intensity.

    Tools & Skills You’ll Practice:

    • Practitioner Resourcing
Grounding into your own body and environment to stabilize the whole space.

    • Co-Creative Resourcing with Clients
Practices that help you and your client slow down, feel more choice, and build real safety together.

    • Invitational Language & Permission-Based Facilitation
How to use your words to build trust, not pressure—and support your client’s sovereignty in every moment.

    You’ll Walk Away With:

    • A steadier, more regulated nervous system

    • A clear understanding of how to track the Window of Tolerance in real time

    • Language and presence that naturally creates more safety and depth

    • The tools to ground yourself (and your clients) when things get intense

    • A stronger foundation for working with trauma in sustainable, life-giving ways

  • This workshop introduces a foundational framework for trauma-informed space-holding through three core principles: Attunement, Body-Based Tools, and Consent & Cooperation. You’ll practice listening with your whole system, guiding clients gently into their bodies, and cultivating safety that’s rooted in trust and sovereignty.

    What We’ll Explore:

    • Attunement
Learn to sense what’s happening under the surface—tracking subtle cues in tone, breath, posture, and pacing—so you can meet clients with presence, not assumptions.

    • Body-Based Tools
Explore how to guide clients back to the body when they’re caught in story, looping thoughts, or overwhelm. You’ll learn simple, effective somatic interventions that help shift the nervous system without bypassing or rushing.

    • Consent & Cooperation
Learn how to work with clients in a way that centers choice, sovereignty, and authentic yeses. You’ll explore collaborative tools for checking in, slowing down, and helping clients connect with their bodies.

    Tools & Skills You’ll Practice:

    • Tracking Verbal + Nonverbal Cues
Deepen your ability to listen with your whole body—reading what’s spoken and what isn’t.

    • Interrupting Looping Stories
Gently interrupt story spirals and guide clients back to their felt experience, supporting real-time shifts.

    • Inviting Somatic Language
Learn to use clear, grounded invitations that help clients orient toward body sensation and impulse rather than analysis.

    • Practicing Permission & Check-Ins
Cultivate a practice of slowing down and checking in, so you’re always working together—not on autopilot.

    You’ll Walk Away With:

    • A clearer understanding of how trauma lives in the body—and how to meet it there

    • Tools to help clients shift from overwhelm into present awareness of what is happening in their body.

    • Language that supports sovereignty, trust, and co-regulation

    • More confidence and skill around how to intervene when someone’s looping, anxious, or frozen

  • This workshop is about deepening your ability to attune to what the body is saying. You’ll learn how to recognize and trust the subtle signs of regulation, activation, and completion in the body, so you can follow your client’s natural intelligence instead of forcing a process. You’ll practice techniques for working with incomplete survival responses (like fight, flight, freeze, and appease), so your sessions feel less like fixing and more like co-creating transformation.

    What We’ll Explore:

    • The Body’s Language
Learn to listen and respond to the body’s cues. When you know how to attune to these signs, you’ll start to see how the body leads the healing process.

    • Somatic Tracking & The Completion Cycle
Explore how to track what’s happening moment-to-moment in your client’s system, and how to support their body to move toward completion rather than collapse. We’ll look at how to work with incomplete survival responses with nuance and care.

    • Pacing, Timing & Slowing Down
Learn to trust the intelligence of going slow. When you allow space for your client’s body to integrate in real time, the work goes deeper and creates more lasting change.

    Tools & Skills You’ll Practice:

    • Somatic Tracking
Reading and following the body’s cues. Building your skill in tracking activation and settling in real time.

    • Supporting Completion of Survival Responses
Practices to support a client’s system in completing patterns of fight, flight, freeze, or appease—without forcing, retraumatizing, or avoiding.

    • Using Language to Follow, Not Lead
Shifting from directing the session to naming what’s happening and allowing the client’s body to lead the way.

    You’ll Walk Away With:

    • A stronger ability to read and respond to the body in real time

    • Confidence supporting your clients through incomplete trauma responses

    • Skills for co-regulating without pushing or collapsing

    • Language and presence that help your clients trust their own process

    • A deeper sense of partnership with the body as a wise guide

What other students have said …

"I have never felt so safe in a space. I have worked with many wonderful coaches and mentors with years of experience. And, I had never been in a space with someone who can guide processes with such deep care

Whitney's integrity and skill are felt through time and space even through zoom. I can only imagine what working in person must be like. I could go on, but just know you are in incredibly gifted hands. In a world, history, and life where I have always felt rushed, this course felt like blossoming at my own pace; at nature’s pace. I get the feeling that the effects of this will keep blooming for years to come. Thank you thank you thank you Whitney."
